Come One Come All to The Tournament of the Seven Deadly Sins to be held in conjunction with the Insula Magna's Masque.

Based on a period format 'round table', first mentioned in 1223 held in Cyprus by John d'Ibelin, lord of Beirut, it is a 13th Century tournament of enthusiasm and pageantry.

All warriors of renown are called to look to their immortal souls. Knights and squires alike and all other manner honoured and depraved armoured combatants draw nigh and come to salvation. One by one the warriors will do battle with their Seven Deadly Sins being: Superbia (Pride), Avaritia (Greed), Luxuria (Extravagance/Lust), Invidia (Envy), Gula (Gluttony), Ira (Wrath), Acedia (Sloth).

But fear not, oh wicked ones, for assistance may be sought from the lovely virtues who keep guard over mortal men. These virtues being:

Castitas (Chastity/purity) opposes Luxuria, Temperare (Temperance/self-control) opposes Gula, Liberalitas (Charity/generosity) opposes Avaritia, Industria (Diligence/ethics) opposes Acedia, Patientia (Patience/peace) opposes Ira, Humanitas (Kindness/satisfaction) opposes Invidia, Humilitas (Humilit/(modesty) opposes Superbia.

Each challenger shall this day embark upon a Pilgrim's Progress to conquer their sins. The winners of the day are: The Pilgrim's Conscience - The one who defeats the sins in the shortest time-span and his companion Persistence - The one who defeats the sins in the most attempts.

The branches of Insula Magna are encouraged to select one Sin each before the tournament day and decorate their warrior-sin in an appropriate manner. Is your branch better known for it's greed, lust, or gluttony?

His Excellency Baron James will be sponsoring a bardic competition that evening based upon the deeds of the day. Be Immortalized in your conquest over sin or your slipping into depravity.

More details to follow.
