Round shields shall measure elbow tip to elbow tip with fists closed and knuckles touching to a maximum of thirty inches. Exceptions for larger shields for extremely tall people may be made on an individual basis by the Coronet.
All other shield shapes shall be cut from a base rectangle measuring shoulder to shoulder, out of armour and chin to crotch. Chin to crotch shall be measured sitting with the shield tip between the legs and the top edge of the shield under the chin.
To encourage the use of persona appropriate shields (kites for example) you may take up to six inches off one dimension of the base rectangle and add that same amount to the other dimension.

The list shall be standard double elimination with a best two out of three finals.
All fighters shall have a persona (geographical area and time period i.e. 9th century Norse).
All fighters shall fight with persona appropriate shield and weapon styles. If your persona /shield/weapon combination is at all unusual bring documentation.
There will be one weapon per fighter. You may fight shield and weapon or great weapon; you may not fight two weapons.
There will be one thrusting tip per weapon. You may have a butt spike or a thrusting tip. You may not have both.
Tir Righ shield conventions shall be enforced. Rounds: elbow to elbow with closed fists, knuckles touching max thirty inches. All others: shoulder to shoulder chin to crotch. Six inches may be taken off one dimension and added to the other for unusual shield shapes.
There will be no visible plastic. Black plastic hand protection will be overlooked. The coronet will be extremely pleased by those who cover their plastic hand protection.
